David is the CEO of MortarStone, a company dedicated to equipping churches, donors, and financial advisors across the country to grow in generosity. He has the privilege of helping thousands of churches and donors steward over $20 billion in giving for the cause of Christ.
In addition, David serves as the Vice President of the Board for the National Christian Foundation (NCF). In this role, he partners with churches to implement planned giving strategies and innovative financial tools that deliver meaningful, tax-efficient outcomes.
As a co-founder and principal at MortarStone, Craig is passionate about equipping church leaders to reach more disciples and uncover pastoral care opportunities through the power of data. He leads our data import and customer support teams and plays a key role in guiding our development and coaching efforts. Craig regularly travels to train churches across the country on how data analytics can drive a healthy, sustainable generosity culture.
DeWayne has over 35 years of experience in both large corporations and in churches. DeWayne led software development, service delivery and global customer success teams for over 30 years. God then called DeWayne to serve in the local church as part of the executive team for Hill Country Bible Church in Austin, TX. DeWayne has a passion to see people be discipled and through discipleship grow in their stewardship and generosity.
DeWayne is married to Donna and they enjoy pursuing their kids and grandkids, and experiencing God’s creation by biking, hiking and just plain traveling.
Eric grew up tinkering with computers. As a teenager he taught himself to build websites and then worked as a web designer for a large church while in college. He then went on to build and maintain complex systems for a school district for about a little more than a decade. Recently Eric was a software engineer for a global enterprise software company. Now he’s back to his original passion: helping churches use technology to further the Kingdom.
For over 35 years, Tim Deatrick has served as a Senior Pastor for churches in St. Louis, MO, Ft. Worth, TX, Bentonville, AR, and Des Moines, IA. He now brings his experience in generosity ministry, planned giving, and non-cash gifts to MortarStone, where he serves as Director of Professional Services. In his last position, Tim led the development of a donor fund for current and future ministry needs. Under his leadership, the modest six-figure investment grew over 400% in six years. Additionally, 22% of total revenue was allocated to missions.
Tim graduated from Hannibal LaGrange College (Th.B) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDivBL; D.Min). He also holds the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) certification through The American College of Financial Services.

Joe comes to MortarStone with over 20 years of experience in the real estate and mortgage banking industry. Joe co-founded Wall Street Mortgage Executives Inc., in 1994 and helped to generate $883 million in revenue which led to the company’s national ranking as the 5th largest mortgage brokerage company in the nation. Joe has served as a principle for several companies including Western Federal Funding and currently is the sole owner of Glenn Systems Development LLC, which focuses on mortgage and real estate funding. Joe desires to use his financial knowledge to help build the church through discipleship-based stewardship.
Joe has a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and has been a long-time friend and colleague of MortarStone’s Co-Founder, David Thoroughman. Joe has a beautiful 10-year-old daughter, and enjoys hiking, traveling and flying. He also enjoys flying unmanned aerial vehicles (Drones) and holds a commercial UAV License along with this Private and Instrument rating.
When asked what she does for a living, Deb responds that she is a “professional nerd.” Both of Deb’s degrees, a bachelors from Taylor University (‘07) and masters from Baylor University (‘09), are in computer science. She joined the MortarStone team as a senior backend developer in December of 2016. In her spare time, Deb is a volunteer Young Life leader at her former high school.
Mike Martin has over 30 years of experience as a professional business developer and sales manager. Before coming to MortarStone, Mike worked with a Fortune 300 company, assisting churches with ChMS integrations. Mike’s passion is to further establish the local church through funding to see the Great Commission fulfilled.
After being born and raised in Wisconsin, Kent moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2009 to work for Ramsey Solutions. Kent spent 12 years helping church leaders financially disciple over 250,000 people across the country. While in Wisconsin, Kent spent over seven years working in college administration and another ten years serving as Executive Pastor of a large church.
Kent comes to MortarStone with a great deal of experience in the church industry and a tremendous passion for seeing God’s people disciplined in the areas of stewardship and generosity. Kent currently serves as a small group leader at his local church and loves spending time with his wife, two sons, daughter, and son-in-law.
Elijah joined the MortarStone team in 2016 as a Data Specialist. He has since transitioned into a software development role where he continues to use technology to help churches achieve greater ministry impact.
When not in front of a computer, Elijah enjoys snowboarding and playing guitar. He recently graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration majoring in both finance and economics.
Isaiah joined the MortarStone team in 2017 as a Data Specialist and transitioned into a Developer role in 2018. Isaiah’s passion is to help the church make a more significant impact for the Kingdom by using data analytics.
Isaiah currently attends the University of Nevada, Reno where he’s majoring in finance and economics. In his free time, you can find Isaiah at the lake enjoying water sports, hiking, and fishing.
With over three decades of experience in accounting, finance, and operations, Tammy brings a deep passion for strategic leadership and faithful stewardship to the local church.
She has successfully led a $60 million building project, overseen a $30 million capital campaign, increased data accuracy by 45%, and helped grow cash reserves from $100K to $3.5M. Yet for Tammy, it’s never just about the numbers—it’s about helping churches steward their resources for lasting, eternal impact.
Tammy joined MortarStone because she believes in the mission: to inspire generosity and equip churches to thrive in ministry.
Danny joined MortarStone in 2024 and now serves as a MortarStone Guide, coaching churches through data-driven ministry strategy. He brings over 30 years of church leadership experience from roles at Cross Timbers Church and Milestone Church, along with part-time work at Compass Texas and Generous Church. His background spans student ministry, campus leadership, operations, and financial freedom ministries. Today, Danny finds great joy in helping churches interpret analytics and translate them into actionable strategies that drive Kingdom impact.
Danny is married to April and together they have an amazing blended family. He serves in the local church and lives in Lantana, Texas.
